SCOTT KNOXX
08.13.2009
Rewind to the Summer of 1985, two child hood friends sit on the edge of a street curb listening to the new Run-DMC cassette tape. One kid has the boom box on his lap as he turns the volume and bass levels up and down impersonating his favorite DJ, Jam Master Jay. The other kid; a 5 year old Scott Reynolds clutches his mothers brush by the handle like a microphone, and recites word for word each versus as if they were his own. The summer street curb sessions soon lead the ambitious boy to his kitchen table where he would fearlessly battle rap with his brother all night and into the early hours of the morning. One day while in class scribbling a rap on his 3rd grade English assignment and forgetting to erased it before handing it in; his teacher pulls him to the side, with amazement in her eyes at the talent of the young boy. She pleads with him to enter in a drug awareness rap contest. The deadline of the contest had past the previous day, but the teacher told Scott if he could write something by the end of class she could get an extension. With the sound of the bell and his rap in his hand he perfectly recited the rap over the phone to one of the judges of the contest, instantly gaining the spot for the commercial. Proud of her sons accomplishments, Scott's mother happened to stumble upon an opportunity for her son to record with one of her clients who had a small studio in her house. Through this relationship he was able to associate himself with people doing music, honing his skills with each new recording.

Throughout high school he would find himself with endless challengers who wanted to test their rhyming skills against the unbeaten battle rapper, now known throughout the school as Scott Knoxx. Sometimes skipping class to battle an under talented foe, Knoxx would find himself in bathroom stalls face to face with his competition, pushing them back on their heels from his vicious verbal assault. At high school graduation after copying his newly recorded album on his home computer and manually placing labels on them, he ended the day selling 200 copies sold. That day changed his life forever, showing Knoxx that it was possible to make money from what he loved to do. The following summer Knoxx and a friend uploaded a song to a new website called WWW.MP3.com. Not long after uploading the song to the site, it went to Number One on the indie charts and remained at that spot for three (3) months. A couple months later a promoter for the site asked Knoxx to be the opening act for the Slick Rick Show being held at the historical concert venue, The Rave. Relaxing with some friends in his dressing room after his performance and drinking all of the stocked beer in the room, national recording group D-12 walks into the dressing room they they were supposed to share with Knoxx. A commotion arises as D-12 realized that Knoxx and his friends had guzzled down all of the beer. The quick witted Knoxx excused himself from the room and returned later with a brand new stock of beer in his hands. As he handed out the beer to the thirsty and frustrated D-12, he put his arm around the late MC Proof, leader of D-12 and raised his glass for a Toast. "Here is to Slick Rick and the dumb ass that left his room unlocked." Everyone began to laugh histarically and forgot about the mishap. When the night is over and D-12 began to board their tour bus, Proof put his arm around Knoxx and said, "You are officially The King of Milwaukee, Anytime I come to Milwaukee I deal with you Scott Knoxx."

Entering the new millennium with momentum and some solid experience under his belt, Knoxx began to totally immerse himself in the local Hip-Hop scene. Locking down opening act spots for 50 cent, The Clipse, Carl Thomas, Talib Kweli, Lil John, Lil Scrappy & PitBull. Rocking every show and each verse as if it was his last, gained Knoxx a reputation as one of the Midwest's raising stars. He later ventured into recording with some of Hip-Hop's heavyweights: Rico Love, Rhymefest, Animal House Productions, Chico Delvec & Digital Underground to name a few. As his hunger for recording grew and his horizons broadened, Knoxx recorded over 350 songs in a 3 year period. With 25,000 copies sold independently under his newly created recording company, Xtra Entertainment Knoxx has positioned himself to be a driving force for groundbreaking music in the years to come

Being pestered relentlessly one night by his newly aquired business and creative partner DJ Nu-Stylez; to attend an event at Texture, a club that he had boycotted for the previous nine (9)months, Knoxx unwillingly surrendered and went. That night a chance meeting with tycoon club owner Donato Salvo would change the course of his career forever. While in the DJ booth with Nu-Stylez & Knoxx, Salvo began to vent about the vibe of his Wednesday Ladies Night. He was seeking a new look, something that would revitalize a night that was slowly transforming into his worst night of the week. Knoxx always being the opportunist, yet not personally knowing Salvo fearlessly approached the club owner about allowing him to be the catalyst that the night so vitally needed. Salvo, being a great judge of hidden talent saw the passion in Knoxx's demeanor and decided to give him a shot. As the year passed and Knoxx proved his worth time and time again, Salvo again presented Knoxx with another opportunity. The club needed a face, leaders & a combination that would take Salvo's vision of the ultimate Hip-Hop experience to the next level; and the deadly combo of Nu-Stylez and Scott Knoxx were that tandem for the challenge. Facing a fork in the road of either passing on this opportunity and continuing as a manager at a travel agency or gambling on this unique opportunity, Knoxx chose to roll the dice and place all his chips on his best bet; himself. When one puts everything on the line for one roll of the wheel he truly is either in complete trust of his intuition or is fearless of the consequences of his actions. Scott Knoxx being both; believes that when you bet on your dream you are not gambling at all, but living a life in pure passion. Where the only thing that stands in front of you and your dream...inevitably is yourself. Scott Knoxx has taken a stand for greatness, and he will let nothing stand in his way of achieving it. With his 3rd album on the way entitled “Gorilla Monsoon” Knoxx says if you like Miltown Millionaire you’ll love this!!
